David
I teach IB Computer Science with a focus on the parts students usually find messy: pseudocode, tracing algorithms, databases and Paper 3. My lessons are practical rather than lecture-style, so we work through code, mark schemes and IA ideas together. I’ve supported both SL and HL students, including those who came to the course without much programming background, and I’m careful not to rush past small gaps.

Nicholas
Hi, I’m an IB Computer Science tutor and I spend a lot of lessons helping students make sense of Java, logic gates and those long algorithm questions. I’m fairly direct in my teaching: we find the bit that is not clicking, test it with a few examples, then link it back to the syllabus. I also help with IA planning, especially choosing a project that is realistic to build and document well, rather than something flashy but unfinished.

Bailey
I’ve taught IB Computer Science for 9 years, mainly with students preparing for HL papers and the Internal Assessment. I like to keep lessons close to the specification, because small wording differences in IB questions can matter. Common areas I cover include OOP, abstract data types, networks and computational thinking. I also review IA drafts for structure, testing and evaluation, with honest feedback on what an examiner will actually see.

Claire
My background is in software engineering, but most of my tutoring now is IB Computer Science. I’m good with students who understand the theory in class but freeze when they see a problem-solving question. We go slowly through examples, then build up to full exam-style answers. I also spend time on the IA, particularly the success criteria, prototype choices and how to evidence testing properly without writing pages of unnecessary explanation.

Rebecca
I tutor IB Computer Science and tend to work with students who want a calm, no-nonsense explanation of how the subject fits together. Recursion, databases and system fundamentals are my favourite topics to teach. I use past-paper questions early, not just near the exam, so students get used to IB wording. For IA work, I help students keep the project manageable and well documented, especially when deadlines start getting close.

Melissa
I’ve been helping IB Computer Science students since my own postgraduate research in data systems. My lessons are quite structured: short recap, one main skill, then exam or coding practice. Students often come to me for help with algorithms, Boolean logic, SQL and the option topics. I also support the IA from initial client problem through to testing tables and the final evaluation, so the write-up matches what was actually built.

Tahlia
Hi! I tutor IB Computer Science for students who need the subject to feel less abstract. I use small bits of code, diagrams and exam questions rather than long explanations. Java and algorithm tracing are the things I get asked about most, though I also help with networking and IA write-ups. I’m honest about what needs practice, but I keep lessons relaxed and focused on one problem at a time, which suits students who feel a bit behind.
